Muskoka Energy Storage ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Ontario Lead Networks Inc., is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of visitors to muskokaenergystorage.ca ("the Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Who We Share Your Information With

  • Qualified Local Installers — vetted energy storage and solar professionals who will contact you to provide a free quote for battery storage and/or solar energy services. Your information is shared only when you provide express consent through our form.
  • Formspree — our form processing service that securely transmits your form submissions to us. Formspree processes data in accordance with their privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) — if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our Site. This data is anonymized and aggregated.

How we make money. Muskoka Energy Storage is operated by Ontario Lead Networks Inc. ("OLN"), a paid lead-referral business. When you submit a project request, your contact details are shared with one matched local energy-storage installer, and that installer pays OLN a referral fee for the introduction. You are not charged for this service. We do not share your information with anyone else for marketing, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information to data brokers or unrelated third parties. Cookies & Analytics

Our Site uses cookies to analyze traffic and improve your experience. On your first visit, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner offering the choice to Accept or Decline cookies.

  • If you Accept: We set a consent cookie and load Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data.
  • If you Decline: We set a consent cookie recording your preference and do not load any analytics tracking.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

Ontario Lead Networks (the operator of this site) follows PIPEDA Principle 5: we keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, except where Canadian law requires longer retention.

Solar, battery, and energy-storage projects typically have a longer sales cycle than most home services (three to twelve months from quote to install), so we hold your information for that period. Your personally identifying information (name, email, phone, project notes) is redacted 90 days after the deal closes (whether closed-won or closed-lost). As a safety net, the absolute maximum we keep that information is 24 months from your submission date, even if the deal never closes.

Financial transaction records (lead ID, dates, commission amount, contractor ID — no personally identifying fields) are retained for six years from the end of the relevant tax year, as required of every Canadian business by the Canada Revenue Agency under the Income Tax Act. After that period they are also purged.

Your Rights Under PIPEDA

Under PIPEDA, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw your consent for us to use or share your personal information at any time.
  • Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information from our records.
  • Complaint: You have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

To exercise any of these rights, email OLN's Privacy Officer at [email protected]. We acknowledge requests within 5 business days and complete them within 30 days, as required by PIPEDA.
